Today, I’m thankful for my car. It is working today. It sputters and chugs along. But it keeps on sputtering and chugging along. That may change tomorrow. But it is working today. I am thankful. When I pass by cars broken down on the side of the road, especially when they look much nicer and newer than mine, I am reminded how thankful I should be. I really do believe my car runs on angel power.
My goal today is to look on the bright side. I want to give thanks for the blessings instead of being distracted by what is not going the way I want. I have God. That is enough. I want to be content.
Almighty God, thank You for being my Father. Thank You for being my friend. Clear my mind and my heart from idols that I may want You more than I want anything else. Strengthen me and discipline me to be content with You, to recognize that while Your gifts are great, You are greater. I am all Yours today; do with me as You will.
